Daly and I

Daly and I

Daly, looking at a nice pair of sneakers. Some sexy looking Nike’s that would be best for him. I on the other hand, think that these sneakers are some ugly, trashy shoes that needs to be out of the store. Daly likes sneakers that are comfortable to him and looks good on him. Daly puts the sneakers on and people gather around with enjoyment because the sneakers are a one of a kind. I see that the sneakers look like any other sneaker. I thought that Daly could do better in his sneaker choices. I just go with the flow on my choices of sneakers because all I want in sneakers is comfort. Daly has to look top-notch when he looks for his sneakers. I act this way so that Daly does not become a cocky person. I want Daly to be humble in his ways and to show that when it comes to sneakers, you do not always have to pick the best sneakers available.

One thing about Daly and I, is that we can pick the best sneakers possible. We pick whatever fits best for each of us. We may have our disagreements but at the end we are the best . That’s what we do, we wear fashion at its best. Daly may have the most expensive sneakers at times, and I wear whatever is affordable for me because I am not trying to go over the prices for sneakers. One Day, Daly and I could become one of the best people in the planet. I just need to become friends with him.

  1. "We may have our disagreements but at the end we are the best " I liked how this line showed that when looking for a pair of sneakers there's a sort of compromise that happens before you actually purchase anything.

  3. The final line was really funny... almost like you were saying that you need to like who you are because you "just need to become friends with [Daly]"

  7. "One Day, Daly and I could become one of the best people in the planet. I just need to become friends with him." I really like these sentences because it gives a different view to the piece that although he is speaking about Daly as if he was very close to him , he is still not friends with him. Interesting!

  9. Sean, Your exploration of the self is wonderful here. The way you guide us through the contradictions that you live with is beautifully expressed in the last two sentences:

One Day, Daly and I could become one of the best people in the planet. I just need to become friends with him.

  11. I really like how you portray the idea that although each of your selves have their own specific preferences when it comes to shoes that are on opposite ends of the spectrum, when you two come together you become more powerful in your choice and end up choosing the best sneakers possible.

That idea is really resonant in the lines, "We pick whatever fits best for each of us. We may have our disagreements but at the end we are the best."

  12. My favorite is " One Day Daly and I could become friends". That's the best part and I feel as though is sums of the essence of your piece. This is really good!
